Genesis Championship halfway cut costs big names their DP World Tour cards
Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Marcel Siem and Pablo Larrazabal are among six players to miss the cut in South Korea and lose their 2027 DP World Tour cards, while Matteo Manassero and Sean Crocker survive to keep their top-100 hopes alive.

The halfway cut at the Genesis Championship has confirmed several well-known names have lost their DP World Tour cards for 2027, according to Golf Monthly.
Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Marcel Siem and Pablo Larrazabal, all multiple DP World Tour winners, missed the cut at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club and with it their tour cards for next season, Golf Monthly reported. Former Ryder Cup player Ross Fisher also missed out.
Eddie Pepperell is among those who did not advance to the weekend and now faces, in Golf Monthly's words, an anxious wait from afar to discover whether his season-long tally is enough to keep him inside the top 100 of the Race to Dubai rankings.
The top 100 in that standing after this week retain full playing rights for 2027, Golf Monthly noted, meaning anyone outside that mark is set to be pushed towards Qualifying School in Spain next month, which Golf Monthly described as likely to be a brutal battle for places given the LIV Golf leavers expected to swell the field.
There was better news for Matteo Manassero and Sean Crocker, who began the tournament in 98th and 103rd respectively in the Race to Dubai standings but both made the cut, keeping alive their hopes of finishing inside the crucial top 100 by the end of the week.
The Genesis Championship, co-sanctioned with the KPGA Tour, is being played at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club in South Korea and marks the final event of the DP World Tour's Back 9 swing, according to Golf365. The tournament carries a prize fund in the region of four million dollars, and the winner will also earn a direct entry into the Genesis Scottish Open, Golf365 reported.
Golf365 framed the week as a tournament of two very different stakes: an opportunity for those near the top of the Race to Dubai to firm up their position before the playoffs in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and, for those further down the list, a frantic fight simply to stay inside the top 100 and hold onto a tour card for next season.
With the cut now made, attention turns to the weekend at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club, where those still in contention for a top-100 finish will look to close out the regular season on the right side of the line, while players such as Pepperell wait to learn their fate once the final Race to Dubai positions are confirmed.
