Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes as his side beat the Carolina Panthers 27-19 on Thursday Night Football, according to Guardian NFL.

Love completed 30 of 41 passes for 288 yards, finding Tucker Kraft, Matthew Golden and Josh Jacobs for scores, though he also threw an interception. Jacobs added two touchdowns himself, a four-yard catch and a one-yard run, despite managing only 39 yards on 21 carries against a Carolina run defence ranked lowest in the league.

Yahoo Sports reported that despite the victory the Packers sit bottom of the NFC North, though the team remain firmly in contention for a Wild Card spot in what the outlet described as the toughest division in the league. The win lifted Green Bay to 5-3 for the season.

The game's defining moment came in the second quarter when receiver Christian Watson went down hard after completing a 53-yard catch. Watson was coughing up blood on the sideline and was taken to a nearby hospital for examination.

He returned to the field before the night was out and finished as Green Bay's leading receiver, catching eight of ten targets for 113 yards.

Tucker Kraft, playing in a season complicated by his recovery from a torn ACL sustained in 2025, caught all six passes thrown his way for 53 yards and opened the scoring for the Packers.

Green Bay's defence also had a standout performer in linebacker Ty'Ron Hopper, who started with Edgerrin Cooper out for the season and Zaire Franklin inactive. Hopper recorded eight tackles, a sack, an interception, three pass deflections and two quarterback hits, forcing a hurried throw from Panthers quarterback Bryce Young that led to a Carolina punt. Yahoo Sports noted he became the first Packer since Charles Woodson to record three pass deflections, a sack and an interception in the same game.

The Packers needed those defensive contributions given that the offence coughed the ball up three times over the course of the night, yet still found enough from Love and his supporting cast to see the game out.

Highlights of the contest, played at Lambeau Field, were carried by Sky Sports Rugby Union as part of its Week 8 NFL coverage.

Green Bay will look to build on the win as they continue to chase a playoff berth from outside the top of their own division, while Carolina will look to respond after falling to 19 points in a game they ultimately lost by eight.
