Utah high school football delivered shutouts, breakthrough victories and big offensive nights across six regions on Friday, Sept. 18.

Utah's Week 6 high school football schedule produced a mix of statement wins and long-awaited breakthroughs, with several teams claiming their first victories of the season, according to Yahoo Sports.
In Region 1, Syracuse blanked Layton 30-0, with Bo Metcalfe scoring on an 11-yard interception return in the third quarter to help push the lead to 16-0. Ledger Wight threw two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including a 48-yard strike to Metcalfe that put the result beyond doubt with 6:01 remaining. Jed Beutler's first-quarter field goal and a Kao Prom rushing score also featured for Syracuse, now 3-3.
Farmington beat Weber 30-13 in another Region 1 fixture, with Kava Fiefia hauling in two touchdowns from Alton Dahl, one a 52-yard score early in the fourth quarter that opened up a 23-7 lead. Dahl finished with four touchdown passes, starting with a 75-yarder to Benson Rogers in the opening quarter. Weber's response, a 44-yard Carter Payne pass to Bridger Rasmussen before halftime, was not enough.
Bingham picked up its first win of the season in Region 2, edging Riverton 31-21. Beckham Greaves caught a go-ahead 13-yard touchdown from Khi Spight with five minutes left in the third quarter, and Paea Tovo added a 5-yard rushing score before the period ended. Alex Dabo's 48-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter sealed it, despite two scores from Riverton's Tavin Hill, including a 95-yard kickoff return.
Corner Canyon overwhelmed Lone Peak 37-14 in Region 3 behind three touchdowns from Jaxon Pehrson, who opened the scoring with a 35-yard run and added a 2-yard score for a 14-7 halftime lead. His third touchdown, a 5-yarder in the third quarter, came after Lone Peak's Joseph Christensen briefly tied the game with a 52-yard run. Defensive scores from Diesel Dart and Will Tenney on interception returns rounded out the Chargers' win.
Hunter claimed its first victory of the campaign in Region 4, defeating West Jordan 37-27 thanks to two fourth-quarter touchdowns from Ryder Paea. His 79-yard run with 9:18 remaining put the Wolverines ahead for good, and an 11-yard score with 3:30 left extended the margin to 37-20 before West Jordan's Bryan Yang scored late.
West stayed unbeaten with a 55-6 rout of Hillcrest, also in Region 4. Kamden Lopati opened the scoring with a 65-yard run and later threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Mani Tu'uao. Naeata Hamilton added two rushing scores and Derendrick Dixon contributed both on the ground and through the air, as West's defence shut Hillcrest out after half-time to move to 6-0.
Region 5 saw three home wins. West Field beat Clearfield 42-14 after building an early two-score lead and adding points in every quarter. Roy shut out Bonneville 35-0, with Gunner Pearson throwing three touchdowns including an 86-yard connection with Lucius Hicks.
