Bournemouth Thrash Aston Villa To Reach Carabao Cup Last Eight
Goals from Amine Adli, Lewis Cook and Álvaro Rodríguez sent Bournemouth into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth eased into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals with a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium, their fifth straight win in all competitions, according to Sky Sports Football.
The result means Marco Rose's side have reached this stage of the competition for the first time in eight years, Guardian Football reported, with a quarter-final trip to Anfield to face Liverpool now awaiting them.
Amine Adli broke the deadlock inside seven minutes, giving the hosts an early platform against a Villa side that had arrived at the Vitality Stadium in confident mood.
Captain Lewis Cook doubled the advantage shortly after the restart with what Guardian Football described as a fortuitous finish, before striker Álvaro Rodríguez added a third to complete the scoring.
The win followed similar margins of victory for Bournemouth against Milan and Manchester United in recent weeks, underlining the form Rose's side have carried into this run, Guardian Football noted.
Villa travelled to the south coast having beaten Manchester City 2-1 in their previous outing, a result Yahoo Sports said had given Unai Emery's squad considerable confidence heading into the tie.
Emery was expected to set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 shape, with Yahoo Sports reporting that Marco Bizot, Ibrahim Mbaye and Tammy Abraham were all in line to start the match.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis was tipped to partner Tyrone Mings in central defence, with Lamare Bogarde deployed as a makeshift right-back and Ian Maatsen operating on the left, while Victor Lindelöf and Matty Cash were expected to be held in reserve.
In midfield, Ross Barkley and Leon Goretzka were projected to sit at the base, with Alejandro Garnacho, George Hemmings and Mbaye operating just ahead of them, while Emiliano Buendia and John McGinn were expected to begin among the substitutes.
Abraham was set to lead the Villa attack, with Nicolas Jackson named among the options on the bench capable of changing the game late on, Yahoo Sports reported ahead of kick-off.
None of that planning translated into a foothold in the tie, as Bournemouth's early goal and clinical finishing either side of half-time proved decisive on the night.
Attention for Bournemouth now turns to the quarter-final assignment at Anfield, where they will look to extend a winning sequence that has already yielded five victories in a row across all competitions.
