Elneny joins Greek strugglers Levadiakos after Al Jazira exit
Former Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has signed for bottom-of-the-table Levadiakos in the Greek Super League, aiming to help turn around their poor start to the season.

Mohamed Elneny has completed a move to Greek Super League side Levadiakos, who currently prop up the division, according to Metro Football.
The 34-year-old Egypt international spent eight years at Arsenal after arriving from Basel in 2013, going on to make 161 appearances before his permanent departure from the club in 2024.
From there he headed to the UAE Pro League, turning out for Al Jazira across two seasons before his exit from the club over the summer.
Elneny had been without a club since leaving the Emirati side, and his switch to Levadiakos marks his first move since becoming a free agent.
Levadiakos ended last season in sixth place in the Greek top flight but have made a dismal start to this campaign, taking just a single point from their opening five fixtures.
The squad Elneny joins already includes Jonathan Panzo, the former Chelsea academy product and England Under-21 international who has also had spells at Birmingham and Nottingham Forest.
Levadiakos further strengthened this month by signing Norbert Gyomber, the Slovakia international with 55 caps who has previously played for Roma, Perugia and Salernitana.
Speaking to the club's media after his arrival, Elneny said: ‘Hello everyone, I just signed for Levadiakos in Greece. I’m very excited to start my journey. Inshallah everything will be good.’
He added: ‘I’m ready for it. I will be 100 per cent for this club. I’m going to see you fans in the next game. I’m really excited to start my journey. See you guys.’
Levadiakos welcomed the signing in a club statement, describing Elneny as a player with Premier League and Champions League pedigree who excelled across more than seven years in Arsenal's colours and has over 100 caps for Egypt.
Elneny remains a well-liked figure among Arsenal supporters and was present to watch the club win the Premier League title last season, later posting on Instagram that he could not stop celebrating the achievement.
Following Arsenal's Champions League final defeat to PSG, he also wrote on social media urging fans not to be too disappointed, telling them to stay proud of what the team had achieved and to keep believing.
Elneny now turns his attention to helping Levadiakos climb away from the bottom of the Greek Super League table as the club continues its push for results this season.
