Kane's penalty not enough as Bayern Munich share spoils with Arsenal
Harry Kane scored from the spot in a 2-2 Champions League draw with Arsenal before naming Paris Saint-Germain as his favourites to win the competition.

Harry Kane scored a penalty for Bayern Munich but could not prevent a 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday night, after which the striker named Paris Saint-Germain as his favourites to win the competition.
Eberechi Eze put Arsenal ahead at the Allianz Arena before Alphonso Davies restored parity for Bayern by half-time. Kane then converted from the penalty spot to put the German champions in front, but Declan Rice completed an incisive move in the 82nd minute to earn Mikel Arteta's side a share of the points.
Arsenal had arrived in Munich as the only team yet to concede a goal in this season's Champions League, according to Independent Sport, a run that ended with Davies' and Rice's strikes. The visitors had also been under some scrutiny for their attacking approach under Arteta, having managed just one shot on target in a 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest the previous weekend, with Michael Olise suspended for the trip and Kane having scored 15 times against Arsenal in his career to that point.
Speaking afterwards to Canal+, Kane was asked to identify the strongest side left in the competition. "I think Paris, us, Arsenal, Barcelona, Madrid always, there are a lot of strong teams," he said. He added: "Paris, of course, winning back-to-back Champions Leagues, they're going to be favourites for it."
The comments followed PSG's 4-2 win at home to Barcelona on Tuesday night, a result that ended the Catalan side's unbeaten start to the season after they had won all 11 of their matches before the trip to the Parc des Princes. Bayern have recent cause to rate PSG highly, having been eliminated by Luis Enrique's side 6-5 on aggregate in last season's Champions League semi-final.
Kane's club form this term has drawn its own praise. Ahead of the Arsenal fixture, team-mate Serge Gnabry publicly backed the striker to win the Ballon d'Or over Barcelona's Lamine Yamal, telling TNT Sports: "He's shown it time and time again, how valuable he is. How much he has improved since coming here - an incredible player." Gnabry continued: "Very deserving. I said it earlier at a press conference. I don't know who decides the markers on who deserves to win that trophy, but he has had an incredible year. He's still in great form, still scoring a lot of goals, so valuable to our team."
Gnabry's endorsement, reported by Yahoo Sports, pointed to a 61-goal haul last season that delivered the Bundesliga title and to Kane's form this campaign, with nine goals and six assists in ten appearances across all competitions prior to the Arsenal draw, including three goals in two previous Champions League outings. Bayern went into the fixture top of the Bundesliga on 14 points, level with Borussia Dortmund.
Arsenal, beaten by PSG in last season's Champions League final, had gone a round further than Bayern in that competition, with the German side having been knocked out at the semi-final stage by the eventual winners. Wednesday's draw leaves both clubs still to make their mark in this season's race, with Kane continuing to point to PSG as the team to beat.
