Aaron Rodgers threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns as the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals to end Cincinnati's unbeaten start to the season, according to Guardian NFL.

The win was a marked response from Pittsburgh, who arrived off the back of a poor showing in a defeat to New England. Against Cincinnati they found enough composure to slow a Bengals side that had looked in strong early-season form.

Rodgers completed 19 of his 34 attempts. The key connection of the afternoon came on a 47-yard catch-and-run to tight end Darnell Washington, who at 6ft 7in and 265lb offers a mismatch few defenders can handle in open space.

That gain set up Chris Boswell for the decisive score, a 33-yard field goal with 2:18 remaining that put the Steelers ahead for good.

Cincinnati still had a route back into the game in the closing stages, but Joe Burrow was sacked by Derrick Harmon and fumbled the ball. Rookie Sebastian Joseph-Day recovered for Pittsburgh, ending the Bengals' final possession and, with it, their hopes of a comeback.

The result leaves both teams at 2-1 on the season, with Pittsburgh's response to their New England setback offering something to build on and Cincinnati now facing questions after their unbeaten record disappeared.

Elsewhere in the same round, Drake Maye's turnover problems continued for New England, a recurring issue that has shadowed the Patriots through their own uneven start, as reported by Guardian NFL.
