Tiger Woods wedge deal arrives as comeback signs build for December
A discount on TaylorMade's Tiger Woods-spec MG4 wedges lands just as reporting points to Woods possibly returning to competition at the Hero World Challenge or PNC Championship in December.

Carl's Golfland has cut the price of the TaylorMade Tiger Woods MG4 wedge to $119.99, down from $199.99, a 40% reduction as part of an early Black Friday promotion, according to Golf Monthly.
The wedge is built around Woods's own specifications and carries TaylorMade's Spin Technology, a feature the publication says was shaped directly by his input during development.
Golf Monthly reported that Woods pushed TaylorMade to solve spin loss caused by morning dew and wet rough, testing that helped validate the laser-etched Spin Tread channels between the grooves, which are designed to clear moisture at impact and keep spin rates consistent.
The wedge also uses an untreated Raw Face and Raised Micro-Ribs to preserve stopping power and launch consistency in varied conditions, and Woods reportedly insisted on CNC sole milling to remove the small variances that can occur with hand-ground wedges.
In its review, Golf Monthly's Sam De'Ath gave the MG4 four and a half stars, praising its spin performance across conditions as well as its feel and feedback, and suggesting most golfers would benefit from carrying one.
The discount lands at a moment when attention on Woods's own game is sharpening, with Yahoo Sports reporting growing signs that a competitive return could be close.
Woods has not played a stroke-play event since the 2024 Open Championship and appeared in only one TGL match in 2026, Yahoo Sports noted, as he has been working through a difficult period away from tournament golf.
That stretch followed a rollover crash near his home on Jupiter Island in March, after which Woods received inpatient care, Yahoo Sports reported, and he subsequently entered a no-contest plea to a reckless driving charge that carried a five-year suspension of his driving licence.
Since then he has made scattered public appearances rather than tournament starts: a brief comment in June when the PGA Tour unveiled its revamped schedule, a visit to a Stanford football game in September, his own Nexus Cup event in New Jersey that same month, and the TGR Jr. Invitational on California's Monterey Peninsula in October, where he has also been seen hitting balls in clinic-style settings.
He has not yet addressed his time away or any plans to compete again, according to Yahoo Sports.
Two events stand out as likely venues for that return. The Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas in December is where Woods traditionally gives a pre-tournament press conference, and the field still has three unfilled places among its twenty spots, a detail Yahoo Sports said fuels the expectation he could tee it up. Kevin Kisner is among those who believe he will play.
The PNC Championship, also in December, offers another familiar stage, with Woods having returned in recent years to partner his son Charlie in the two-round scramble event. Yahoo Sports pointed out this would be their last PNC together before Charlie, a high school senior committed to Florida State, graduates.
Whether Woods tees it up at either event remains unconfirmed, but the combination of a rare appearance pattern through 2026 and a still-open Hero World Challenge field has kept speculation alive about where his comeback will actually begin.
