Woods poised for TGL return as Kisner reveals exit from Jupiter Links

Tiger Woods has reclaimed his place in Jupiter Links Golf Club's TGL roster for next year, while his tournament comeback plans remain unresolved after the Hero World Challenge field was announced without him.

Tiger Woods is set to feature for Jupiter Links Golf Club when TGL returns for its third season, after the team opted to keep him on its five-man roster at the expense of Kevin Kisner, according to Independent Sport.

Woods is still working his way back from disc replacement surgery carried out in 2025. He played only one match for Jupiter Links during Season 2, appearing in the TGL Finals, which the franchise lost to Los Angeles Golf Club.

Kisner, who had a two-year deal with Jupiter Links, confirmed on Barstool's Fore Play podcast that he had been left out so the team could accommodate Woods and new signing Keith Mitchell.

"Well, obviously, I'm not on the team anymore," Kisner said. "I had a two-year contract with Jupiter Links and then they, Tiger wants to play. And then they wanted to sign Keith Mitchell, which is totally fine with me."

In a separate remark, Kisner added that he expected to stay connected to the franchise in some capacity. "And I'm sure I'll still be involved in some sort of fashion at some point. Go down there and do some stuff for them. You know, the Bad News Bears are still going to be a part of my life, and hopefully they continue to win," he said.

Jupiter Links' Season 3 line-up now features Woods alongside Max Homa, Tom Kim, Akshay Bhatia and Mitchell, according to Golf Monthly, which reported that Kisner's exit stemmed partly from Woods wanting a bigger role in the simulator league this time around.

While his TGL involvement appears settled, Woods' return to tournament golf is still an open question. The PGA Tour's Hero World Challenge field, announced on 19 October with 17 of its 20 places filled, did not include his name, as reported by Yahoo Sports.

Woods, 50, has not played a competitive event since missing the cut at the 2024 Open Championship. The Hero World Challenge's small field has long been floated as a possible low-key setting for a comeback, and three tournament-exemption places remain open, with further additions to be confirmed later.

Yahoo Sports noted that recent practice footage of Woods has stirred speculation about his readiness, but stressed that only he and his team know when his health and game will allow another start.

This year's event returns to the Albany resort in the Bahamas from 3 to 6 December. Seven of the world's top 10 players as of the 31 August eligibility date have already committed, including Scottie Scheffler and defending champion Hideki Matsuyama, both chasing a third title at the venue.

Whether Woods adds his name to that field before the deadline, or waits for a fuller return alongside his TGL commitments next year, remains the central question hanging over his comeback timeline.
